    • Position Summary
    • One temporary hourly-intermittent student assistant position in Communication Studies.

    • Start Date
    • Position available on or after August 18, 2025 and ending on or before May 31, 2026. Possibility of reappointment based on budget, department needs, and job performance.

    • Job Description/Duties
    • Duties include but are not limited to:
      • Assist in overseeing and organizing the day to day operation of KCSS.
      • Assist in training and assigning time slots for student and volunteer broadcasters.
      • Assist in coordinating activities of student management team and conduct staff meetings.
      • Assist in maintaining regular office hours.
      • Maintain and enhance music inventory through correspondence with the music industry.
      • Monitor and assist KCSS broadcasters with music selection.
      • Coordinate and report weekly and monthly charts.
      • Other duties as assigned.

       

    • Qualifications
    • Preferred Qualifications:
      • Effective oral and written communication skills. Effective organizational skills.
      • Proficiency in Word, Excel & Outlook. Working knowledge of alternative music formats.
      • Completion of one semester of COMM 3112. 
      • Demonstrates the willingness to commit to employment through June 30, 2024.
      • Demonstrates working knowledge of the operation of a college radio station, some management and non-commercial radio experience.
      • Demonstrates completion of one semester of COMM 3112.
      • Demonstrates effective organizational and communication skills.
      • Demonstrates proficiency in Microsoft Office.
      • Demonstrates prior experience with Adobe Creative Cloud.

      Required Qualifications:
      • Undergraduate students must be registered/enrolled in a minimum of six (6) Fall/Spring units.
      • Post-baccalaureate students in a graduate program must be registered in a minimum of four (4) Fall/Spring units.
    • Salary Range
    • $16.50 per hour.
