The Art Department, California State University, Sacramento, seeks a Teaching Associate (TA) to Lead ART 20A

Timeline:

  • Anticipated Appointment Start date: May 27, 2025
  • Anticipated End of Appointment: July 6, 2025

Position Description: The Teaching Associate (TA) will serve as the instructor of record for ART 20A Summer Session. The TA will conduct instructional activities, prepare materials, assignments and assessments to support student learning under the direct supervision of the Department Chair. 

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Art or equivalent GPA 2.5
  • Graduate students must maintain 3.0 GPA to be employed
  • Current enrolled graduate student in the Department of Art, MFA (4 units)
  • Successful Completion of ART 231 Teaching Practicum
  • Completion of, or current employment as, a Graduate Assistant the Art Department

Additional Requirements

  • Intermediate word processing and presentation computer skills
  • Beginner to intermediate skills with Canvas course-building software
  • Evidence of skill with grading and grading rubrics
  • Letter of support from Graduate Assistant Faculty

Teaching Associates (TAs) have conditional appointments based on enrollment and budget. Hires are made when there are instructional needs to fill coursework offered by the Art department, based on enrollment patterns.
