The Department of English at California State University, Sacramento seeks a part-time Graduate Assistant to staff the University Reading & Writing Center under the direction of Prof. Angela Laflen.

Timeline:

Duties:

  • Graduate Associate Coordinators assist in the coordination of face-to-face, synchronous, and asynchronous tutoring in the University Reading & Writing Center (CLV 128) under the supervision of the Writing Center Coordinator.
  • Summarize reports for faculty or program center personnel
  • Perform other functions requiring knowledge and background beyond that generally possessed by undergraduate students

 

Eligibility Requirements:

Undergraduate Students

     Unit Load: 6 min – 15 max per semester

     GPA Minimum: 2.50 (overall), newly admitted students: 2.50 GPA

Graduate Students

     Unit Load: 4 min – 12 max per semester

     GPA Minimum: 3.00 (overall), newly admitted students: 2.75 GPA

Minimum qualifications:

  • Must have successfully completed ENGL 195A/410A
  • Must be available for staff orientation in the beginning of the semester
  • Must be dependable for ten hours per week of work
  • Must be fluent with using Zoom, Microsoft, Canvas, and Google Products
  • Must be able to handle confidential information and willing to be FERPA trained.
  • Must be able to work on campus and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Must be able to work responsibly, independently, and flexibly
